I have experience in the realms of business analysis, data analysis, and database transformation, as well as the creation of deliverable documents and diagrams.
As senior manager of business operations and digital assets strategy at B.C.’s Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions, I integrated agile practices in creating a digital portal for mental health and substance use resources. With daily scrums and short development sprints, we were able to quickly respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. I led the stalled project into a production-deployed Minimum Viable Product.
At B.C.’s Ministry of Health, As Pharmacare Information, Policy and Evaluation’s representative on the PharmaNet Revisions for Information Management Enhancement (PRIME) Project, I advocated for a more agile-oriented approach to overcome existing obstacles. Later, I worked as a business analyst in Business Planning and Application Management and helped ministry clients find or develop software solutions to meet their needs.
I worked with with the Royal British Columbia Museum (RBCM) through LRE Technologies, associated with Quartech. I had a lead role in implementing AtoM, an open-source archives management software solution, and performing extract/transform/load duties on the entirety of the BC Archives database. I led a multi-day instructional seminar on the new system for archivists.
I also had a prominent role in the development of Integrated Museum Management (IMM) for RBCM. This project used a partial Agile approach while adhering to existing business processes. The internal application is a massive upgrade for the collections database. Public records are indexed and searchable by anyone at http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca. I also performed extract/transfer/load duties with significant transformation from a flat file database to a relational database, which is much more robust. I created many instructional materials, wrote deliverable documents, and worked on process and architecture diagrams related to the project.
